Knight’s Hall
With its magnificent paintings, special warmth and a sense of intimacy, the Baroque Knights’ Hall is the perfect venue for events, receptions, business meetings, civil wedding ceremonies and more. It is also used as a setting for commercials, films and music videos.
Little is known about the original Knights’ Hall. Only the wall paintings, which imitate the hollow pilasters of the façade, with painted decorative vases and flowers set between them, have been partially preserved since the mid-18th century. A typical motif of the period is the large shells above the doors and in the niches. The illusionistic fresco on the ceiling is neo-Baroque, and was only painted after the great Ljubljana earthquake of 1895. It was painted in 1905 by the painter Alojzij Šubic, who is said not to have known the content of the original ceiling painting. The hall is also decorated with two 19th-century stoves.
From the hall, there is an exit to the balcony, where a beautiful view of the avenue of chestnut trees opens. On warm days, two smaller terraces are available. The lobby of the Knight’s Hall is suitable for banquets and socializing after the event in the Knight’s Hall.
