The beginnings of the development of mopeds at the Tomos factory in Koper dates to the late 1950s. At that time, many derivatives of the Puch MS 50 moped were created under the common name Colibri. The first Colibris had the designation VS 50, but later they were assigned new designations from 01 to 013. The most successful of the Colibris was type 12. Colibri T 12 was first presented in 1961 and became the most popular moped in Slovenia. Mopeds played an important role in the daily lives of mainly male representatives in establishing motorization among the population.
