Earrings made of hair, 1916–1917

In the autumn of 1917, a young soldier gave a box of earrings to Dragica Szillich de Gleria at the Logatec railway station and asked her to keep them for him when he returned from the battlefield. But if he doesn’t come back, she should give them to his daughter, the then-two-year-old girl, Majda. In the box were two earrings, braided from hair, which reminded the soldier of his loved ones and home. Unfortunately, he did not return from the war and the earrings were left to his daughter Majda, who saved them together with the story. One hundred years after the event, Anja Dular donated the valuables of the unknown soldier to the museum.
