The war in Ukraine began on February 24, 2022. In the spring months of the previous year, the second major arrival of refugees from Ukraine took place in Slovenia. Slovenian state offices and the public responded quickly with help. Alla Stupar, a Ukrainian who has been living in Kamnik since 2017, also organized help at the local level. The news about the war shook her and she felt the duty to organize help immediately and quickly. The social network Facebook gave her the opportunity to do so, so she publicly announced a phone number where she could be reached 24 hours a day and helped as much as she could: organized bus transport, offered help with accommodation, collected much-needed humanitarian aid and started helping Slovenian humanitarian organizations: Red Cross, Slovenian Philanthropy and others. Telling her story, which she shared with us for the exhibition about the war in Ukraine, she gave us stamps that were created during the war in Ukraine and added: “We all help as much as we can, even the puppy Patron, who is our national hero!”
