Pins for Slovenia’s first presidency of the council of the EU

During Slovenia’s current second presidency of the Council of Europe, we are presenting the pins that were used in 2008, during the first Slovene presidency. Pins are a type of accreditation badge used for events at the highest level. They were made in two versions. Round pins with the logo of the Slovene Presidency, cut on crystal glass, are designated after nine different colors. They were used for ministerial meetings. The tenth type of crystal pin is sandblasted. It was used for partners of all high guests. The three types of metal pin are a Carantanian panther on a silver base (in two sizes) and a Carantanian panther on a gold base. They were used for attending the Conference of Presidents of the European Parliament, the meeting of the Government of the Republic of Slovenia with the European Commission, for attending the European Council and for the EU-US Summit.
