On April 22, we celebrate World Earth Day. This day is dedicated to raising public awareness of the vulnerability and transience of the planet we live on and encouraging action to preserve it. In Slovenia, there is an increasing awareness of the importance of a healthy and clean environment. For this purpose, non-governmental organizations prepare various campaigns and initiatives for the protection of nature. The three appendices presented draw attention to the issue of generating electricity with thermal power plants, nuclear power plants and hydroelectric power plants.
Interesting fact: the Mura river is the last undammed lowland river in Slovenia.
