Borghesia is a multimedia group founded in 1982 in Ljubljana by some members of the alternative theater group Theatre FV-112/15. Borghesia is known for their provocative and politically charged performances, which combine electronic music with performance art and multimedia elements. Their work includes performances, visual and musical creation, video, and theater. The group’s innovative approach and commitment to challenging social norms have left an indelible mark on the cultural world of alternatives that emerged in the 1980s. Borghesia has also openly addressed LGBT themes in their music and performances, significantly contributing to the destigmatization of this community.
Their album Clones was their second studio album, released in October 1984 by the Galerija ŠKUC label. The group recorded eight songs at Disko Študent on a regular cassette recorder, three songs at the Ivan Cankar Cultural Center (KDIC), and one directly on a video recorder. In 2012, a remastered version was released by the alternative music label Dark Entries Records.
