The medal is from the World Championship in Model Airplanes – a sport that involves building and launching model airplanes. They work as a sports tool and are not radio-controlled, in strong winds they can fly up to two kilometers away without control. The sport itself is difficult and physically demanding: when the model is dropped, the competitor has to find it and bring it back. It takes place in seven starts, where the seconds of the flight are counted, with the maximum number of seconds being 180, and the sum of the seven starts gives the final “plasma” (ranking or order). Anton Pavel Videnšek, medal recipient and Bloudko awardee, represented Yugoslavia at the World Championship between August 7 and 13, 1981 and won first place.
