In front of the Museum of Contemporary History
21 January – 28 February 2022
We
are all constantly on the move, voluntarily or unwillingly, physically and
emotionally. We move between home and away, belonging and alienation, silence
and openness, resilience and vulnerability, injustice and reconciliation.
Finding one’s identity somewhere between these poles is demanding and requires
the ability to constantly change and adjust.
The Identity on the Line is an international
travelling exhibition that encompasses stories from seven migration cases from
seven European countries. It focuses on physical movements, migration processes
that took place in the twentieth century in Europe and shaped the identities of
millions of people. Weaving together the intimate stories of the migrants and
their descendants, the exhibition puts into perspective the strong feelings
that unite them, despite differences in context, timeframe, nationality, and
background.
The exhibition is on view in front of the museum until the end of February
2022, after which it moves to Croatia.
The full content of the exhibition can also be found here: www.identityontheline.eu, where you can also share your story.
