Egon Piščanc was born in Piščanci at “Longot” on July 3, 1927. After the Second World War, he and his friend Edi Šelhaus began a photography career called “Photo Edi”. In his early years, he collaborated with various newspapers, including the Primorski Dnevnik. He then shifted his photographic focus and specialized in photographing ceremonies. In 1954, he opened a photographic studio in the centre of Trieste on Oriani Street under the name "Photo Egon". As an official photographer, he thus monitored many important life moments of individuals: baptism, confirmation, wedding, funeral, etc.
The relatives donated the material to the Museum of Contemporary History of Slovenia at the end of the year 2019. The material, mostly black and white shots on Leica film format and 6 x 6 cm film format, is currently in the process of documented and edited.
