The collection features 1,129 images. Most of them are related to the consolidation of German nationhood in the regions along the Sava and Sotla rivers. Most of the photographs were made by the photojournalists Veit and Delti Ordelt; the latter also led the aforementioned department. The negatives are in the form of glass plates of various sizes, on Leica film, the photographs are in the sizes 6 × 8, 10 × 15, 13 × 18, and 18 × 24 cm.
The forced displacement of Slovenes, the Rajhenburg camp, the relocation and settling of the Gottscheer Germans to this area, the various Nazi holidays, especially the so-called Kreistag in 1942; also featured are numerous images of German armed actions against the Partisans in 1942 and 1943, the political events in the major towns in Styria, especially in Maribor, Ptuj and Celje, the visits of political officials to places in Styria, especially the visit or ‘tour’ of the Styrian Gauleiter Sigfried Uiberreither along the occupied towns of Lower Styria and the visit of Heinrich Himmler to Maribor and its surroundings, and castles, the places where the Gottscheer and Besarab Germans were settled, funerals, portraits of political leaders etc.
