Photographs from the Legacy of Ivan Rudolf
The photographs from the legacy of Ivan Rudolf were donated to the National Museum of Contemporary History by Saša Rudolf in 2014. Ivan Rudolf collected volunteers throughout the prisoner-of-war camps in Africa during the Second World War and motivated them to join the Yugoslav Royal Guard Battalion, which was quartered in Palestine. Thanks to the ‘Yugoslav Committee from Italy’ and its most important member in Africa, Prof. Ivan Rudolf, 4000 to 4500 volunteers were collected who, after the capitulation of Italy, mostly joined overseas units. Ivan Rudolf simultaneously collected volunteers who were trained for parachute missions, which the Anglo-American intelligence services sent into Yugoslav territory and who provided links between the Partisans and the Allies.
