The France Cerar Fonds (1920–1960)

Curator: Andreja Zupanec Bajželj

The France Cerar Fonds was created in 2001. It consists of 348 images on dry plate, 420 images on photographic paper, and about 3,150 images on films of various sizes.

France Cerar (Rafolče pri Lukovici, 28.9.1920–27.9.1960, Lukovica pri Domžalah) was a district electrician and was only engaged in amateur photography. His photographic footage was created during his district rounds, at various events, celebrations, funerals, and at home. His photographic legacy is complemented by a series of about fifty preserved photographs taken on a nine-day trip to Berlin, Hamburg and Munich, where Cerar watched the summer Olympics in 1936 along with a group of 788 Slovenes.
