International conference on the occasion of the Soča / Isonzo Front Centenary
(RE)DISCOVERING THE GREAT WAR
MULTIDISCIPLINARY RESEARCH OF MODERN CONFLICTS

On May 24th, 2015 one hundred years will have passed since the beginning of the armed conflict between the Austro-Hungarian Empire and the Kingdom of Italy on the Soča / Isonzo Front. We will mark the occasion of the centenary with the first international conference on multidisciplinary research of modern conflicts, focusing on the Great War and its numerous legacies, to take place in Slovenia.
We got 24 interesting presentations from different research fields such as archaeology, history, museology, anthropology, geography and others from authors from all across Europe. There will be 11 presentations on the first day at the National Museum of Contemporary History in Ljubljana (May 22nd 2015) and 13 on the second day at Kobarid museum (May 23rd 2015), followed by summary and discussion made by Dr Nicholas J Saunders at the end. The final day will be consisted of a field trip and a trip back to Ljubljana.

Posters should be printed in format 70 × 100 centimetres.
Deadline for submission of poster titles is May 15th.

The price includes tea, coffee and snacks during the conference, the field trip including transport from Ljubljana to Kobarid (May 22nd) and the return journey from Kobarid to Ljubljana (May 24th). Admission to museum exhibitions is free of charge for all conference guests.
