Children’s ski boots – Alpina
As the object of the month of January, matching the season of the year, we are presenting a pair of Alpina ski boots. For the first toddler’s ski steps, they were made in white-blue colour and for the foot size 25, intended primarily for the first turns into the Alpine skiing world. The latter caused the euphoria of almost football dimensions, because of the success of the Slovenian alpine skiers.
Children’s ski boots were made in one of the most famous (Yugoslav) shoe factories in Žiri, which grew on the tradition of Žiri’s shoemaking. Founded in 1947 as a factory of sports shoes, Žiri, and five years later renamed Alpina, a shoe factory, it complemented its production of different types of footwear with ski boots in “plastics” in 1973.
