A cigarette case

A cigarette case with a telling engraving

A cigarette case with a telling engraving from the legacy of Ivan Rudolf – the “father” of Slovenian paratroopers of British secret services during the Second World War and the leader of the collection of inhabitants of Primorska and Istra in the camps for prisoners of war in Africa.

The cigarette case was made in Cairo for Christmas in 1941 – just a few days after five Slovene patriots were shot down after the judgment in the second Trieste process in Občine by Trieste. Above the engraved Rapalo border is a verse from the famous Slovene poet Gregorčič: Soča.
